Mick Jenkins 2016Jayson Jenkins (born April 16, 1991), better known by his stage name Mick Jenkins, is an American hip hop recording artist, who signed a deal with Cinematic Music Group. His most recent releases of his projects was an EP, titled Wave.

On January 13, 2012, Mick released his first official mixtape, The Mickstape. In August 2012, he then released his second mixtape, titled The Pursuit of HappyNess: The Story of Mickalascage.

These consecutive mixtapes includes the production from several these record producers such as After the Smoke, Swisha House, Chris Calor, Quincy Banks, Chuck Inglish, Vanilla, and Dijon, among others. During 2012, Mick would returned to Chicago and began attending YCA (Young Chicago Authors), which is some type-of a youth center, where he did his first acappella verse, which would feed some attention for the local recording artist and a leader of Chicago’s Pivot Gang collective, Saba.

The two then collaborated on the track, called Heaux, which was featured on Saba’s mixtape GETCOMFORTable (2012).
