Lukas Graham is a Danish pop-soul band consisting of Lukas Graham Forchhammer (born September 18, 1988) (vocals), Mark “Lovestick” Falgren (born November 28, 1988) (drums), Magnus Larsson (bass) and Kasper Daugaard (born June 14, 1989) (keyboard). Launching their debut album in 2012 on Copenhagen Records, Lukas Graham quickly became a popular live act in Denmark. That success translated to the rest of Europe and caught the attention of Warner Bros. Records who co-signed them in 2013. The band’s music was first introduced worldwide with the release of their two singles “7 Years”, which topped various national charts. Their second album was released internationally on April 1.
In 2015, the band released their follow-up album Lukas Graham (Blue Album) with three of its tracks making it to number 1 on the Danish singles chart: “Mama Said”, “Strip No More” and “7 Years”, with the latter a veritable international hit that also topped the Swedish Singles Chart.
The song also reached number 1 in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. It debuted at number 96 on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number two, becoming the band’s first top five hit in the United States. On 28 January 2016 the band announced on Facebook that a version of Lukas Graham (Blue Album) would be their first worldwide studio album, including the singles “Mama Said”, “Strip No More” and “7 Years”.
