FC Dallas is an American professional soccer club based in the Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas which competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), in the Western Conference of the league.
The franchise is one of the 10 charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its inception, and was known as Dallas Burn prior to the 2005 season.
In regular season play, the team’s best finishes were in 2006 and 2015, coming first in the Western Conference. In 2010, they were runners-up to the Colorado Rapids in the MLS Cup. The team has won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, in the 1997 edition against D.C. United in a penalty shootout.
