Borns 2016Garrett Borns (born January 7, 1992), better known by his stage name BØRNS, is an American indie pop artist from Michigan. BØRNS released his debut studio album, Dopamine on October 16, 2015.

On August 17, 2015, his album Dopamine and its cover art were revealed on social media. On August 19, 2015, the release date for Dopamine was revealed via social media as October 16, 2015. Borns covered an original song called ‘The Emotion’ on their Dopamine disc. They refer to it on their disc as “Holy Ghost”. It is an original track by the artist ‘Melody’ and was also revealed on social media and YouTube, giving all music credit to ‘Melody’. Melody is also known as ‘Melly Mel’. Her other hits include ‘Downtown’ with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis as noted on the Billboard in the video. However, she does like Borns version of her song, ‘The Emotion’ as she kindly noted on interview.

On September 15, 2015, BØRNS’ performance at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City was filmed by the American Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) for its critically acclaimed ‘Front and Center’ concert series airing nationwide in February 2016. During this one hour, commercial-free, all-music program, BØRNS performed the following 13 songs: ‘Seeing Stars’, ‘10,000 Emerald Pools’, ‘Past Lives’, ‘Moonage Daydream (David Bowie cover)’, ‘Dug My Heart’, ‘Broke’, ‘The Emotion’, ‘Four Sticks (Led Zeppelin cover)’, ‘Fool’, ‘American Money’, ‘Electric Love’, ‘It’s My Party (Leslie Gore cover)’, and ‘Clouds’.

BØRNS is included in the line-up for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2016.
